The health benefits of bananas are substantial, so if you’re a banana lover, you’re going to love our smoothie recipes! And if you’re not really a fan of them, drinking banana smoothies is a great alternative to take advantage of their benefits.
Bananas can improve your mood and even reduce PMS symptoms. Since bananas are high in potassium, iron, Vitamin B-6 and loads of other nutrients, they can help ease symptoms of depression, protect us from illnesses and disease like kidney cancer, type 2 diabetes (by regulating our sugar) and osteoporosis (calcium).
They’re also a great ally to have for high-intensity exercise. Always eat a banana or two before starting your workout- you won’t have any of those pesky muscle cramps.
Oh, and if we have one too many glasses of wine, bananas can cure a nasty hangover, too!
Freeze fresh fruit or veggies for your smoothies to avoid watering them down with ice cubes!
Keep an eye on the consistency, which will depend on what kind of blender you have. Just add almond/soy milk or substitutes you’ve chosen to keep your smoothie from being too thick.
